Tuesday, April 7th Photos

Greta(600s) and Luigi(?)(300s) have joined new number clubs!

Wednesday, April 8th Virtual Learning

  • “Must Do” 30 minutes Language Arts
    • 20 minutes Guided Reading Book (As you run out of paper books, skip this and go directly to Raz Kids. Raz kids will become the reading program for the rest of the time we are out of school.
      • Review book from yesterday.
        • Ask them to retell the events of the story.
        • Ask what the author’s message might be.
        • Identify the characters of the story
        • Identify problem and solution in the story.
        • Have them reread the story to you (independent read)
      • Read the book together using the Oral Reading Method (see handout).
   OR
    • 20 minutes Raz Kids Reading program online (Click here to get to classroom) I included your login information in your packet in case you need it.
AND
    • 10 minutes Word Work 
      • Complete one page in Sight Word Packet
                            OR
    • Complete one Phonics Game from phonics pack plastic bag (If you have completed these, just work on Sight Word Packet).


  • “Must Do” 20 minutes of Math
    • Complete one sheet in math pack
OR
    • Pick one math game in bag to play (or any math game you have at home like dice games, card games that involve numbers, etc..)
                    OR
    • Number Writing Journals (set a time to write numbers each day. There is a grid in the front cover to help your child.


  • "Must Do" 10 minutes of Writing
    • Complete one Writing Journal entry. Draw a picture to show your words. (1-5 sentences according to ability)
                     OR
    • Complete one page in the Sight Word Mix and Fix sentence booklet.


  • “May Do” Project Based Learning (PBL) Where does food come from?
    • This week we focus on stems!
      • Snack on stems this week! Did you think of any that I did not?
      • Watch result #2 from my stem experiment. (Click Here)
      • Set up your own stem experiment! Send pictures! Write in your journal what you did to set it up.


  • “May Do” 5-15 minutes of Mindfulness
    • Watch "Time to Come In Bear" a social story about social distancing." (Click Here)

      • Walk through the book by turning pages and discuss any changes they might have about their prediction.
