Friday, May 29th Learning Plan

Welcome to the end of new instruction! This is the last day there will be lessons posted. Feel free to continue to use the materials over the summer. We will not be collecting materials in order for you to be able to use any unused materials.

  • “Must Do” 20 minutes Language Arts
    • 10 minutes Raz Kids Reading program online (Click here to get to classroom) As your child gets tired of working on Raz Kids, limit their time in here to only the times they are working on one book. That includes the three buttons on the bottom: reads to the child, the child reads out loud and records, and the test. Just do this 2 times a week! Be sure to have your child record themselves reading 2 books per week. They do NOT need to do more than that!
                              AND/OR
    • 10 minutes of choice reading. This includes, reading recipes, reading lists, reading cereal boxes, reading favorite books AND time that an adult (or older sibling) reads to the child!
                             AND/OR
    • 10 minutes Word Work 
      • Complete one page in the phonics section of the new workbook. (pages 11-39)
  AND     
    • Practice sight word cards (25 pack and 50 pack sent home earlier this school year) Contact me if you have misplaced these and I will send you an electronic copies.
OR
    • Practice handwriting ABC in Home Learning book 1 page (pages 1-10)

    • Play one of the new math games you have prepared from the game booklet. Prepare more games to play ahead and pick any math game to play. (Try a new one!)

    • Number Writing Journals (set a time to write numbers each day. There is a grid in the front cover to help your child. 1000 club winner will get a surprise in the mail!

    • Zoom Meeting for writing lesson (Join at least 2 meetings a week. Join one writing lesson and one journal lesson). Please note, your child is welcome to all the lessons but must attend at least two in a week. On Mondays and Wednesdays we will do a writing lesson is where I will play an instruction game and no materials are needed. On Tuesdays and Thursdays a journal lesson is where they will use one of their journals and free write with me. Fridays will be game day and I want as many classmates there as possible! All are welcome.

Thursday, May 21st Learning Plan

Kindergarten Learning
  • “Must Do” Project Based Learning (PBL) “Where does food come from?
  • This week we are asking you to work on a recipe to include in our kindergarten cookbook. Feel free to cut back on other learning in order to get this done! Take pictures of the process and share! All recipes are DUE by Friday, May 22nd at the end of the day. This will give us time to put it together in the last week of learning and have an electronic copy ready for all of you!
Please Include: 
  • Child’s name (first name only)
  • Title of Recipe
  • Ingredients List
  • Food Groups Included in Recipe
  • Instructions
  • Picture/photo of finished food item

FOR EXAMPLE:

Grandma’s Peanut Butter Balls

Submitted by: Mrs. White

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 Cup Honey
  • 2 Cups Dry Powdered Milk
  • Various toppings to roll in - cornflakes powdered sugar, nuts, etc...

Food Groups: Dairy, Protein

Instructions

  1. Mix the peanut butter, honey and dry milk together in a bowl.
  2. Just a scoop of your choice and form into a ball.
  3. Roll in toppings
  4. Chill for 20 minutes
